New Tools & Releases

  • Visionary Wallet is here, enabling seamless interaction with web3 dapps on the Apple Vision Pro. Built with React Native visionOS, it offers a native app experience. Use it to access platforms like Hey in Lens Protocol effortlessly.
  • We wholeheartedly welcome another JavaScript bundler for the web: Farm, a Vite-compatible build tool written in Rust. Golang tools (like esbuild, which powers Vite) are no longer safe from being "rewritten in Rust™️."
  • Rspack, a Webpack-compatible bundler written in Rust is stepping into stability, with its first alpha release of v1.0. We've seen 5x performance improvements on all metrics for Re.Pack when switching to Rspack and, let's say, we're excited!
  • At Figma's Config 2024 Keynote, Emil Sjölander (former React Native core team member) presented the latest updates to Code Connect. It's now out of Beta, supporting two-way live binding between Figma design and React and React Native code for web, iOS, and Android.
  • React Navigation 7.0 is finally approaching stability with the latest Release Candidate announcement. It includes a new static API that simplifies the configuration of navigators and improves TypeScript and deep linking support, allows for screen preloading, and more.
  • The next major version of React Native, v0.75, featuring React 19, is just around the corner. Give it a go and help the team polish the release so it's hassle-free.

  • Microsoft's React Native Test App (RNTA) proves to be a productive baseline for building example apps for RN libraries that support 5 different platforms with low-overhead setup. At Callstack, we're migrating all our libraries to leverage RNTA and reduce maintenance time.
  • React Native Testing Library maintainers have recently kick-started an effort of writing a testing cookbook full of recipes to grab and reuse in our React Native apps. There's a second recipe already!
  • In this video Scott and Wes dive into the world of Next.js with special guest Tim Neutkens from Vercel. They explore the latest updates, including the React Compiler and React Server Components, discussing their impact on developer workflows and the future of Next.js development.
  • Here you can find a short guide on how to integrate App Clip with React Native and new architecture using React Native Host from Microsoft's rnx-kit tooling.
  • Welcome rn-primitives - Radix-based headless (unstyled) components with a focus on accessibility. They offer a unified API across iOS, Android, and web platforms.
  • The team behind React Native Reanimated has once again raised the bar for OSS documentation. They've introduced interactive examples that run in your web browser, along with videos for those who prefer not to interact with the site.
  • Following up the announcement at the React Conf 2024, the React Native core team recommends using a framework (like Expo) to ship new, production-ready apps. You're either using a framework or building your own-in the latter case you can still build on top of the React Native Community CLI.
