Building Super Apps With Re.Pack 5, Rspack, and Zephyr Cloud

This is a special edition in which we share game-changing updates for building super apps with React Native.

The Future of Super App Development with Re.Pack

Super apps are gaining more traction, and at the heart of it is Re.Pack, our go-to bundler for bringing the Module Federation to mobile.

What's new? In 2024, we're taking things to the next level with Re.Pack 5, which now supports Rspack-a faster, next-gen bundler written in Rust. In our testing, it's up to 5x faster for cold builds and incremental dev server changes (HMR).

But we're not stopping there. Adopting Rspack allows us to easily integrate Module Federation 2, which means a better developer experience:

  • Dynamic type generation with cross-module type safety
  • Dynamic import() support when dealing with federated modules
  • API known from the web

And here's a teaser: Module Federation 2 is coming to Re.Pack 5 in the upcoming weeks 🚀

Zephyr Cloud Integration

We've also partnered with Zephyr Cloud to integrate their platform into the React Native ecosystem, simplifying the deployment process for super apps. Zephyr Cloud's tools make managing federated app versions easy-whether you're deploying to edge networks like Cloudflare or using Zephyr's managed cloud.

Check out all the details on our blog and get ready for the future of React Native super apps!
