This week’s stream was special, as Łukasz and Mike joined right after React Conf 2025, giving us first-hand insights straight from the event.

We talked about the biggest announcement: the creation of the React Foundation, which will govern React, React Native, and JSX. Founding members include Amazon, Callstack, Expo, Meta, Microsoft, Software Mansion, and Vercel; a major step toward React’s open and community-driven future.

Then came the tech talk.

We dove into the new React Compiler 1.0, now production-ready with deep code optimization and ESLint integration, as well as research projects like Forest and Fir, exploring new approaches to React performance.

We explored <ViewTransition>, now available in Canary, bringing shared element transitions and layout animations, with future support for React Native and beyond.

There’s also <VirtualView>, a core component that boosts performance for scroll-heavy UIs, and ****the experimental Hermes v1, the next-gen JS engine for React Native.

Finally, we discussed React Strict DOM, the project aiming to unify React DOM and React Native under a strict spec for cross-platform compatibility.

Honestly, there were so many updates that we barely scratched the surface, so make sure to catch the full stream on YouTube!
